The Football Huddle Was Invented At A University For The Deaf
The football huddle was invented at a university for the Deaf.... to keep the opposing team from seeing their hand signs. It was the Deaf Gallaudet College team, in the 1890's. Members of the team went into a huddle to hide the hand signals they were using during a game against another Deaf team.
