The Clarity® C120™ Wireless TV Amplifier transmits stereo sound from a television to a wireless headset up to 50dB/124dBSPL. The C120™ is compatible with public infrared (IR) systems. It will also notify you when receiving a telephone call. It is an ideal solution for those with moderate to severe hearing loss. Hear the TV clearly and comfortably without disturbing others.
It features a lightweight, wireless headset with automatic shutoff. The "Home" mode provides high fidelity 2.3MHz/2.8MHz stereo sound with the transmitter (included). The "Away" mode lets you use the receiver with 95KHz public IR systems such as at museums, movie theaters and concert halls. One year warranty.

What is an IR (infrared) system?
IR, or infrared systems, transmit sound via invisible light waves within direct line of sight. There is added security in an IR system because sound cannot "spill over" to other rooms. Many multiplex theaters use IR systems for that reason.
